The Fairlawns was the brainchild of John & Anna Thacker, the owners,
who wanted to create 'something really special' and out of the ordinary in
the mould of a Relais and Chateau Hotel. Apart from the beautiful
surroundings and warm, homely ambience that is unerringly remarked upon,
the emphasis is on personal service. Judging by the comments in the
visitors book to date, many would agree. Staff are regularly advised that
'going the extra mile' is a requirement at The Fairlawns, and wherever
humanly possible, every effort is made to accommodate a guest's wishes.
Mandela Suite - Fairlawns Hotel
At present The Fairlawns boasts 12
highly individual, exclusive suites with an additional 6 Luxury suites
along with a presidential suite.
The Premiere Wing is the latest addition to The Fairlawns Hotel.
The wing comprises some of the most opulent and distinctive suites in
South Africa, among which you may choose a suite to suit any mood or
personal preference. The Presidential Suite is a
traditional, opulent European villa style suite, boasting 240 square
metres of sheer unadultered luxury. This suite was especially designed
for visiting dignitaries and sophisticated world travellers.
Smuts Room - Fairlawns Hotel
Candlelit gourmet dinners are served in a Private Dining-Room, in the
restaurant on the terrace, or as room service. In the summer, guests may
request a table be set on the lawns under the stars, or near the lit
fountains.In the evenings, relax with an
aperitif on the tranquil terrace, sip cognac in front of the fire, or be
sociable in the elegant Colonial Bar. In winter, guests congregate around
the welcoming fireplace like moths around a candle, for some good
old-fashioned gemutlichkeit.
