Grootbos is home to two exclusive 5 star sanctuaries –
 Garden Lodge and Forest Lodge.

 Each free-standing suite is set in tranquil surroundings and comprises lounge with fireplace, bedrooms, en suite bathroom and wooden deck with spectacular ocean views.

All rooms are equipped with extra length beds, 100% down duvets and cotton bedding, heated blankets in winter, a safe for valuables, tea & coffee station & well-stocked mini-bar.

Bathrooms complete with double washbasins, double showers and/or baths, heated towel rails & hair dryers.

Grootbos - Facilities

 The stone and thatch Grootbos lodge is stylishly decorated using modern African decor. It houses a circular restaurant with a blazing central fireplace, where gourmet cuisine is served using only the finest local produce. Other lodge facilities include a well stocked bar, telescopes for whale spotting, an extensive library, ecological research center, small gift shop and a large wooden terrace leading out to the swimming pool. 

Grootbos - Activities

The 3000 acre Grootbos Private Nature Reserve is home to a magnificent variety of plants and animals and is close to a pristine 30 km coastline with secluded swimming areas, white sandy beaches and archeological caves.



  Dedicated conservationists accompany guests on a tailor-made program of activities including flower and nature tours, 4X4 drives, horse riding and boat tours to view the  Cape Fur Seal and African Penguin. From July to December Grootbos offers close-up encounters with Southern Right Whales from both land and boat.
