Location - KuanguKuangu

KuanguKuangu is derived from "Omukuangukuangu", a word used by the Ovambo people, meaning the milky way.
KuanguKuangu offers a panoramic view of the mountains  during daytime… or of the starry heaven as soon as night has fallen (the Namib desert is reputedly the best place in Southern Africa to observe the stars). KuanguKuangu is a cabin designed for two to getaway from it all.  There is a farmhouse nearby if you are travelling with friends and family.


The Acccommodation - KuanguKuangu

  The accommodation at KuanguKuangu is simple and uncluttered, the bedroom with a spectacular view is an oasis of quietness and inspiration. You will be able to enjoy at leisure both sun rise and sun set on the Barchan dunes. The unit has its own bathroom and the kitchen, built around a rock in perfect harmony with the natural environment. 

 
KuanguKuangu - Food

You can, if you desire, take your meals at the farm situated at five minutes walking distance from KuanguKuangu (you must check in advance that your hosts there). The food and the warm welcome they offer are exceptional. You will be treated to such delicacies as excellent oryx steak, ginger spiced pumpkin soup, or delicious milk-tart (a Southern African speciality).

KuanguKuangu - Activities

The farm has a rich fauna and flora. You will have the opportunity to see kudus, warthogs, ostriches, horses, wild squirrels, desert suricates and jackals, just to mention a few.

Should you wish you can go on a guided trip to Sossusvlei, and visit some of the nearby attractions (Spreetshoogte, Naukluft, Kuiseb Canyon ...) (pre-booking essential) 

KuanguKuangu is surrounded by a mountain range, a veritable natural geological marvel, which you can explore on foot. These rocky formations will reveal stunning and eccentric surprises to the attentive observer.
