Summerwood is only 30 minutes from Cape Town Airport, and 40
minutes from the centre of Cape Town itself – indeed the perfect spot
for exploring the Western Cape.
This unique mansion, designed and built by an Italian
architect 100 years ago, has been lovingly restored and furnished to
meet the demands of the modern traveler. Stylish bedrooms combine a
contemporary and country feel to create a comfortable atmosphere.
All 9 rooms at Summerwood Guest House are
en-suite, with both bath and separate shower, and are fully equipped
with direct dialing telephone, television, minisafe, hairdryer, ceiling
fan, refrigerator and under floor heating for those chilly Cape
winters. Guests can enjoy the comforts of a very tranquil lounge and
breakfast room overlooking the gardens. The guest house stands in its
own beautifully maintained and secure grounds with a large swimming
pool. The property has been graded “5 Star” by the South African
Tourism Grading Council.

secretarial services are available at reception and separate business
work space is provided for corporate guests.

Stellenbosch has to offer.
Summerwood
is situated on the outskirts of the historic University Town of
Stellenbosch – a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk from the town centre –
within easy reach of all the excellent wine farms making up the
‘Stellenbosch Wine Route’ and in close proximity to some of the
finest restaurants in the country. A number of excellent golf
courses are within a few minutes drive. Enjoy a Full or half day
wine tour, or do a brandy tour through the brandy route.
Enjoy wine tasting
by horseback in the nearby Franschhoek or enjoy a horse ride
through the Vineyards at Spier Wine estate. For the adventurous you
can enjoy the following activities on quad bikes - an Obstacle
Course Tour, Vineyard Educational Tour, Grape Harvesting Tour, Mountain
Tour , Sundowner Tour and a Night Ride Tour.
For hiking
enthusiasts you can do the Vineyard Hiking Trail
through the scenic Devon Valley. Other adventurous activities
include Mountain biking or fly fishing in the
Jonkershoek nature reserve.
